Pascal Khoo Thwe
From the Land of Green Ghosts:
A Burmese Odyssey
Pascal Khoo Thwe was born in 1967 in a remote part
of the Shan States, southeast Burma. He was born as a member of the
tiny Kayan Padaung tribe, a tribe famous for their 'giraffe-necked'
women. How he developed a passion for English literature (specifically,
James Joyce), became involved in the student resistance to savage military
repression, escaped to Thailand and won an English degree at Cambridge
University, United Kingdom, is the story told in From the Land of
Green Ghosts, his first book. Pascal Khoo Thwe now lives in London.
